The revitalisation of the historic core of the Nusle Brewery has been successfully completed. Penta Real Estate has approved a set of listed buildings that have preserved their original architectural elements and at the same time acquired a new function. More than a hundred apartments, new public spaces, a commercial arcade and a footbridge over the Botič River have been created and now serve residents and visitors.
The project naturally connects the industrial past with modern urban life. Approximately 1,000 people will find a new home in the historic buildings and the new buildings. Most of the apartments have already been sold, with the last few dozen remaining on offer. The heart of the new district is the central square with the monument to General Kutlvašr, surrounded by shops, cafés and restaurants.
The newly opened arcade with unique architecture and a footbridge over the Botič River significantly shortens the path to the Bratří Synků Square. In the passage and adjacent areas, establishments such as the Rossmann drugstore, the Zrno zrnko bakery, the Botticelli café, the Kytky od Pepa florist, the Don Pealo newsagent and tobacco shop, and the new branch of the Czech Post Office opened. In September, a Penny supermarket will be added, and next year a Turnov Brewery & Restaurant. Other concepts are planned for the ground floor of the new buildings – a space for work and relaxation by MIMAMI, a nail & hair studio SOHO, a fitness MiniGym and a wine bar Mozzarella Bistro.
The Nusle Brewery has thus become another example of the successful transformation of a brownfield into a lively and functional urban district.
