On 16 April, a series of three events was launched with the unveiling of the statue of Courage, created by artist Dušan Zahoranský. This statue, now located in a new plaza in the area of Nová Waltrovka, is a tribute to personal and civic courage. The outer profile of the statue portrays the hockey player Augustin Bubnik, whose life story includes Olympic medals and persecution by the Communist regime. Inside the statue is a hidden profile of the face of Božena Laglerová, the first woman in our country to devote herself to aviation.
Penta Real Estate regularly launches art competitions aimed at improving the quality of buildings or public spaces in the places it is developing. Many works of art have already been created and open art competitions are being organised for others to come. An independent jury made up of curators, academics, city representatives and the artists themselves has the final say.
