KIKA in the Bory Retail Zone

KIKA, a leading seller of furniture and home accessories, will open its second Bratislava outlet in the Bory Retail Zone, which is a commercial part of a wider development in the Bory zone. Its construction should start after obtaining all necessary permits, currently the project is in the stage of the environmental impact assessment (EIA).

The new KIKA store will be situated in a 18,800 square-metre piece of land. On three above-ground floors, it will offer furniture or home accessories on a sales area of almost 10.000 square metres.

We are pleased that the retail park will be complemented just by the KIKA company, which will fit very well into the wide range of the Bory Retail Zone. Here customers can already find a number of well-known brands and the Bory Mall shopping and entertainment centre is also a part of the zone,” says Rastislav Novák, Director of Commercial Projects at Penta Investments.

Currently, Metro Cash & Carry, Hornbach, Merkury Market, Decathlon and Shell petrol station are to be found in the Bory Retail Zone, and the outlets of SIKO Koupelny, BAU Holding and Koupelny Ptáček are under construction. In addition, Porta Holding, with the ASKO and Porta brands, announced their arrival in the Bory Retail Zone a few weeks ago.

We consider the Bory Retail Zone to be a key shopping hub for a significant part of the population of Bratislava and its surroundings. Therefore, it is important to provide the visitors with a wide range of quality furniture and home accessories. The KIKA department store thus becomes a natural part of the Bory commercial zone. We cannot imagine not being present in the selected company of other retail players who already operate in the zone or will soon open their outlets here,” says Jakub Střeštík, CEO of KIKA Nábytek for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

In Slovakia, KIKA has currently four outlets, besides Bratislava in Košice, Poprad and Banská Bystrica.

About the project

The Bory Retail Zone is a seventy-hectare commercial zone, where up to 20 large-scale retail outlets offering a variety of goods and services can gradually come into being. The retail park is a part of the Bory project and it is close to the D2 motorway exit to Devínská Nová Ves and Záhorská Bystrica.
