This year was defined by new projects for us. We started off in January with the purchase of land with an area of 85,000 sq. meters on the southern bank of the Danube River between Bratislava’s Old Bridge, Apollo Bridge and Prístavný Bridge. The area which is important for the development of the capital will thus gain a new place for life and work that will also serve as a counterpoint to the business center and downtown on the northern side of the river. At the end of the summer, a land lot on the corner of Vajnorská and Odborárska streets with an area of 4.5 hectares was added to the acquisitions. A new residential project will grow there in the future, complemented by retail space and public amenities.
We started the construction of the third stage of the Pri Mýte project in Bratislava’s Nové Mesto. The third and final stage will complete the construction process of the successful residential project in this locality.
In the Bory district, we managed to reach several important milestones. We presented the fifth stage of the residential project Bory Bývanie which will bring 366 new apartments to the locality. The third stage of Bory Promenáda is currently in the process of obtaining its occupancy certificate. The construction of the next two stages of the project – Bory Nový Dvor and Bory Na Hrádzi – have continued in full swing throughout the year. Bory Hospital, the most modern hospital in Slovakia, has been finished altogether with the employee housing for medical personnel. Both received a valid occupancy certificate this autumn.
We organized two architectural and urban planning competitions for the Southbank project on the southern bank of the Danube River, the Vajnorská project in Nové Mesto, and an urban planning competition for the Medze project which will be built on the border of the Karlová Ves and Dúbravka districts. In all three cases, we managed to catch the attention of renowned international architectural studios who decided to participate in the competitions.
This year, our projects received more than 15 awards in domestic and foreign competitions. As a developer, we were also awarded for the overall results we achieved. At the international CEEQA competition in Warsaw, we won the title of Developer of the Year. At the ASB Gala competition, we won first place in the category of office projects, and we took third place in residential projects.
In an effort to promote overall awareness in the segment in which we operate, we participated in several professional conferences, supported a number of events and organized regular lectures for students of the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the Slovak University of Technology.
This year also reminded us not to take anything for granted. After two difficult years marked by the global pandemic, in February, we were hit by the news about a war conflict in neighboring Ukraine, and the Slovak economic situation was affected by global inflation.
We are glad that despite these difficulties, we managed to maintain trust of clients, business partners, financing banks and thus justify our standing as one of the leading developers on the market.
