First round of the architectural and urban planning competition in the Old Town

Last week, we have successfully finished the first round of the international architectural and urban planning competition for a project in downtown Bratislava. The competition's goal is to find a future solution and design for the development in the remaining part of the area, where construction of the first office building began in early December.

In the first round, we received over 80 proposals from architectural studios worldwide. Following the evaluation of the expert jury, composed of architects and urban planners, a representative of the Bratislava - Old Town district, and representatives from Penta Real Estate, three of these submissions will advance to the second round. Their names will be announced in the first half of January.

Additionally, three renowned architectural studios were invited to advance directly to the second round: the Danish studio Bjarke Ingels Group, the Dutch studio MVRDV, and Jakub Cigler Architekti from the Czech Republic.

The seven-member jury will select the overall winner in March of next year.
