The Florenc21 project is moving into another key phase. An international jury has selected 16 architectural teams to advance to the final round of the competition to design a new urban district in the centre of Prague. These teams are now working on the final designs of four city blocks that together will create a modern, sustainable and livable district linking the historic centre with Karlín.

The competition has attracted extraordinary interest; 157 teams from 33 countries have entered. The finalists include renowned Czech studios such as Chybík+Kryštof, A69-architects and Pavel Hnilička Architects+Planners, as well as internationally renowned studios such as LAN architecture (France) or Barkow Leibinger (Germany).

The results of the competition will be announced in autumn 2025.

At the same time, Prague city councillors approved a planning agreement and an amendment to the zoning plan that will enable the project to be implemented. Florenc21 thus represents not only an example of quality architecture, but also a transparent cooperation between the city and the investor. The new district will offer not only housing, but also public services, a kindergarten, quality public space and better transport links to the area.
