The international architectural and urban design competition for the new center of Špindlerův Mlýn is entering its second phase. The expert jury has selected eight teams from a total of 33 applicants. These teams will now develop their initial proposals into more detailed concepts, based on which a final selection of four designs will be chosen for public presentation. The high quality of the submitted proposals confirmed both the strong international interest and the professional level of the entire process. The teams offered diverse approaches while remaining sensitive to the local context. The winner of the competition will be announced in June 2026.

Advancing teams:
  • ADR s.r.o.
  • GRAS architects + WILDING X WHY + PROGEOK s.r.o.
  • Jakub Klaska ltd + ATELIER ROUGE + Pontex spol. s r.o.
  • Kees Christiaanse + M2AU + C+S Architects + VECTURA Pardubice + Tomáš Babka
  • Opočenský Valouch Architekti (OVA) + IN SITE + PPU Inženýrský ateliér
  • Petr Hájek ARCHITEKTI + Ing. Věra Filipová + Ing. Václav Juppa
  • Sadovsky & Architects + Laboratórium Architektúry Krajiny (LABAK) + Dopravní Stavby-Prokos, s.r.o.
  • STOPRO Architects + Raz23. s.r.o. + Living in green s.r.o. + SBM telekomunikace s.r.o.

The final proposals will be exhibited in May, giving residents and visitors the opportunity to submit their comments. The resulting design aims to create a new town center offering places for community life, municipal services, and a safe environment for pedestrians and cyclists.
