After successful approval by the Capital City of Prague and the Municipal District of Prague 6, we are delighted to officially announce an international architectural and urban planning competition for the completion of the so-called ,,4th quadrant“ of Vítězné náměstí in Prague’s popular district of Dejvice. After approximately 100 years since the original design of the urban structure of Dejvice and Kulaťák itself, this third largest square in Prague will finally be completed. We will undertake this entire project together with our partners from Sekyra Group and Kaprain. Part of the land is also owned by the University of Chemistry and Technology (V.Š.CH.T.), which has plans to construct its own microbrewery within the site.

The international architectural competition will have a form of three competition workshops, during which the jury, investors, local government and other stakeholders with interests in the micro-locality will engage in a joint dialogue directly with the competing teams. Those interested in participating in the competition must submit their applications, together with a portfolio of reference works by September 16, 2022. Subsequently, the jury will select up to 10 teams to participate in the first round of the competition. As a next step, between  3-5 concepts are expected to be selected, which will be further elaborated and improved into a more detailed proposal in the second round. The investors will negotiate with the winner of the competition on the processing and designing of the subsequent  proposed projects. Prominent figures of Czech and European architecture will sit on the competition jury.

Part of the materials and information pack for architects will also be based on the outputs from the public involvement, that took place during the spring of this year. Residents and visitors of the area described what they miss in the center of Dejvice and how the development of the square could improve civic amenities.
