On Thursday, 29 January, the first competition workshop took place directly in Špindlerův Mlýn.

The aim of the meeting was to familiarise the competitors with details essential for their proposals, particularly in relation to transport, local development plans, the river, the forest, property relations, and other relevant topics. Additional information was provided in person by representatives of organisations such as KRNAP, Povodí Labe, and the Špindlerův Mlýn Municipal Services.

Throughout the day, a factual discussion took place, clarifying expectations as well as technical constraints. The competitors thus had the opportunity to ask all necessary questions for developing their conceptual proposals.

They will now work on their proposals until the beginning of March, after which the expert jury will select four out of the eight teams at the end of the month to advance to the next stage. These four proposals will then be consulted with the wider public in June 2026. The jury will subsequently choose the winning proposal.
