Penta Real Estate Started the Reconstruction of Jurkovič Heating Plant

Today, during the inspection day of the Mayor of Bratislava, Ivo Nesrovnal, the reconstruction of the Jurkovič Heating Plant, a national cultural monument, began. Its complex reconstruction will require an investment of more than EUR 11.5 million and its completion is expected in the course of 2020.

The beginning of the reconstruction of this remarkable monument shows that private investors play an important role in preserving the cultural heritage of the city. Bratislava, thanks to its cooperation with city and district representatives, will have a unique industrial site,” says Juraj Nevolník, Executive Director for Slovakia in Penta Real Estate.

The Jurkovič Heating Plant is a remarkable monument and I am glad that today its reconstruction is about to start. Not so long ago, we witnessed similar significant buildings and cultural monuments being flattened to the ground. With various investors, I always look for ways to conduct public service in favour of Bratislava inhabitants in our investment projects,” says Ivo Nesrovnal, Mayor of Bratislava.

About Jurkovič Heating Plant

The architecture of the adaptation of the heating plant interior is developed by the ADOM M STUDIO of the well-known architect, Martin Pašek, who participated in several reconstructions of industrial sites, including the award-winning Piešťany Power Station. The renovation of the building lining is professionally covered by the PAMARCH company which focuses on the protection, revitalization and reconstruction of monuments.

The new architectural solution utilizes the free internal space in the boiler room and in the turbine hall for the construction of new structures, creating new surfaces and floors. The Jurkovič Heating Plant will provide unique co-working space and it will be open to the general public as well.
